Go with the TomTom XL, I have a garmin nuvi 255w and it glitches up a lot. It will frequently forget paths and roads. Plus upgrading cost about 200$ last time i checked
i just bought my boyfriend the tomtom and so far he loves it! get it from radioshack they have refurbished models that work like new but cost way less
